Ruth Lewis
BSc (Hons)

 

Following completion, in 2007 of a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science at Queen's University, Belfast , Ruth opted to focus her studies on a career in physiotherapy. She undertook a Masters (Pre-Reg) in Physiotherapy at Queen Margaret University , Edinburgh , graduating in November 2009. Whilst studying she gained experience in outpatients, elderly rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation and cardiovascular rehabilitation. With an enthusiasm and clinical interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy Ruth completed a successful 6-week elective placement at 'The Clinic' as a student and joined the team full time after qualifying in January 2010.

Whilst at ‘The Clinic' Ruth has become accomplished in the assessment and treatment of the spine and peripheral joints. She has completed training in the new Japanese technology of kinesiology taping which provides lymphatic drainage and pain relief for various musculoskeletal disorders. Ruth has also trained in biomechanics and podiatric assessment and can prescribe corrective orthotic devices which help resolve chronic conditions and prevent injury. As part of 'The Clinic' team Ruth is working and gaining experience in both the domiciliary and occupational health setting.

Ruth is a member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
